That scarf is ACTUALLY $560! Omg, that’s insane- awesome that you showed such a simple way to recreate it, no one I know could ever pay $560 for a scarf. YSL was a fashion God though!

I, too, am shocked that such an expensive scarf exists, nevertheless the tutorial is terrific. My only complaint is that you don’t have more episodes, I’d really like to see more.

    XOXO Kelly

When I see something in the store that I can’t afford, I either drool over it longingly, or swipe the credit card and regret it. I’ve never though “hmm, how can I go home and make this myself.”……….. until now! I’m making this scarf tomorrow, thanks for the awesome inspiration!

This is how I wear my scarves-

    scarf

even good in the summertime if it’s not blazing hot.

I like the 50′s housewife/rosie the riveter- but you have to do it with smaller scarves.

you could also just wrap it once around the neck and let each side hang.

    scarf

it doesn’t keep you very warm, but looks stylin’

    Hey Abby,

Thanks for all the great ideas! It would be great if you could include some tips for sewing chiffon; I know it’s a tricky fabric that can slip and snag easily. Thanks!

I just watched your Episode 2 while flying Virgin America. My only complaint is that there was only one episode! :O) You have talent, and it’s wonderful that you are sharing it. I wish you all the sucess in the world. I’ve been sewing for 30+ and teaching sewing for over 20 years. (I love that you sew on an old Singer, too. It’s what I started on years ago, and proves that Oldies can be Goodies) Sewing is becoming a lost art, and I am throughly proud of you. I hope to see more episodes soon!
